Food warning

MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE Dr David Estwick has sounded a warning to some of his Cabinet colleagues.

Speaking at a Farmers Market & Culinary Exhibition for World Food Day on the compound of his Graeme Hall, Christ Church offices yesterday, Estwick put them on notice as far as the country’s food security is concerned.

Estwick said he had already made a recommendation at the level of Cabinet to protect the local food sector and plans to make another petition.

“If there is one last thing I do as Minister of Agriculture [it will be] that the national procurement sector in Barbados is linked to the production of agricultural products in Barbados. In the United States they do it without fear. (YB)
