THE ROYAL Barbados Police Force and Flow Barbados are warning members of the public to be vigilant when dealing with people purporting to be employees of the communications company.
This comes in the wake of information circulating on social there are people either visiting residences or making contact via telephone and offering services as employees of Flow.
Police reminded the public of “the dangers” associated with interacting with people offering goods and services before validating identification. All suspicious activity should also be reported to police.
Meanwhile, FLOW issued the following statement:
Cable & Wireless Communications, the parent Company of Flow Barbados, has been made aware of persons engaging in suspicious activity under the guise of Flow employees.
We therefore take this opportunity to remind our customers, business partners and the general public that it is company protocol for our technicians, engineers and third-party contractors to present themselves in uniform, accompanied with valid company identification, to perform installations or address service-related matters.
Should you encounter a situation with which you are not comfortable, we urge you to be cautious and secure your home or workplace and make contact with the Royal Barbados Police Force.
Further, please also note that Flow will never ask you in an email to verify sensitive information such as your full account number, username, password, address or national ID number.
