Coach: Pass on knowledge

GENERAL CONCACAF and FIFA goalkeeping instructor Claine Plummer, is encouraging fellow goalkeepers to take the knowledge gained back to their various communities to see the difference in the games going forward.

He was speaking yesterday at the opening ceremony of a five-day goalkeeping coaching course, sponsored by CONCACAF, at the Barbados Olympic Association’s Wildey headquarters.

The second-year CONCACAF and one- year FIFA instructor highlighted that instructors of the game needed to be on their toes to pass on the message to the federations that request their services.

“Back in the day referees were older men who were out of shape and could not keep up with the pace of the game. Now it is required to have referees who are fitter and can keep up with the pace of the game.” (RA)
