THOSE SEXY SELFIES posted online by potential employees could prohibit them from entering the job market.

Chair of the Barbados International Business Association Carolyn Attong said employers were still checking in on their employees through social media.

“You have to be careful what you put into the wider world, you have to be very proactive with that because a lot of companies are asking for your Facebook page and LinkedIn account just to get idea of who you are,” she said during a career showcase at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus yesterday.

Attong said what was put out on the World Wide Web had the potential to return in a haunting manner.

“It is not always about what you wear but how you project yourself externally that speaks to social media,” she said. (MR)
