THE CIRCULATION OF a video on social media, in which a teenaged girl is seen persistently refusing the sexual advances of a man, has drawn outrage from several quarters.
Both Acting Attorney General Michael Lashley and director of the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit, Cheryl Willoughby, condemned the actions and called on the police to move swiftly against the culprit.
Lashley said: “I think that is a real serious issue that we have to tackle and the perpetrators should be brought to justice as soon as possible.”
The two also condemned the actions of those sharing the video, warning that it was against the Computer Misuse Act to share such content.
The almost four-minute video appears to have been shot behind an object and was being circulated on WhatsApp.
