THE BARBADOS WATER Authority (BWA) informs the public that the 15 inch water main leading to the Grand View Reservoir in Grand View, St Michael, ruptured early this morning.

The main, which is located behind the Springer Memorial School, has been shut down and BWA work crews ‎are currently on site to affect repairs.

Residents and businesses may be impacted by outages or low water pressure in and around the surrounding districts of Government Hill, Belleville, Belmont Road, Tweedside Road, George Stree , Roebuck Street ‎and in the City of Bridgetown.

BWA engineers will make adjustments to the distribution network in an effort to minimise outages.

Tankers will be assigned to assist, but medical facilities located in the areas listed will be a priority.

The Authority ‎apologises for any inconvenience caused and assures its valued customers that they will work assiduously to restore supply as soon as possible.  (PR)
