$64m recycling plan

WITH $64 MILLION to spend and a heart for cleaning up Barbados, Anderson Cherry has embarked on his plan for taking recycling here to a level never before seen.

Now all he wants is buy-in, from both the public and the Government.

The 44-year-old outspoken businessman is hoping that by 2030, Barbados would no longer have to build landfills, which now cost about $20 million a pop.

If all goes as planned, he says he believes he could save Government more than $100 million in the long run, by getting Barbadians to take recycling seriously and Government to follow his lead.  (BA)
