THE BALL is in the court of the Chief Town Planner to decide whether a proposed four-acre, one-megawatt solar plant at Cane Garden, St Thomas, gets the go-ahead.

The decision, said business magnate and owner of Williams Solar, Ralph “Bizzy” Williams, would send a clear message whether Government was really serious about moving towards a green economy.

Williams made the comments at a town hall meeting for residents of neighbouring districts, at the Lester Vaughan School, on Thursday night. Williams Solar is behind the proposed ground-mounted photovoltaic facility on 4.4 acres of land at No. 8, Cane Garden, St Thomas, a site adjacent to the Lester Vaughan School.
