SOMETHING IS GOING to happen tomorrow.

That’s the word coming from National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) general secretary Roslyn Smith following today’s meeting to discuss the way forward after president Akanni McDowall was removed from his government post.

While adamant she would not delve into details, Smith explained the selected action would continue until a meeting was held with government to resolve the issue.

The NUPW yesterday summoned health officers to a meeting at their Dalkeith Road, St Michael headquarters. About 40 of them responded and threw their support behind the president.

McDowall, who was present at the meeting, was removed from his post of Health Planner I. He was returned to the more junior post of Environmental Health Assistant I last month. (AD)
