White on the ball at US university

YOUNG Tiffany White is living her dream of playing football on the international scene, after putting in the required hard work.

The 19-year-old journeyed to the Southern University in Louisiana at the beginning of September, where she has been granted a four-year football scholarship to represent the Southern University Jaguars.

The former Combermerian was one of four female ambassadors on the Live Your Goals and the Barbados Football Association’s Grassroots programmes that had the task of visiting schools across the island to encourage young women to get involved in the sport.

“I started playing football at the age of 10 years at my primary school with the boys. I then joined the Barbados Soccer Academy boys’ team and stayed there for three years,” she said (RA).
