Stench back at school

LIFE AT Combermere School at the moment has been likened to a recurring nightmare.

That’s because the environmental issues that caused the closure of the school six months ago have returned, stronger than ever.

Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) president Mary Ann Redman confirmed yesterday that many of the problems had resurfaced despite efforts to address them over the summer holiday.

“Yes, similar issues have resurfaced. A stench is permeating through quite a large section of the school.”

“Some classrooms have been vacated as a result because it is not possible to teach in them. Teachers and children are complaining about similar symptoms like last time.” (AD)
