IT MATTERS TO MARIA: From shed to home

RON HARRIS and Rochelle Sealy now have a decent roof over their heads.

The couple was featured in this column last month appealing for assistance in getting building materials to renovate the shed they were living in with their four children, including a newborn.

A number of kind-hearted individuals reached out to the couple, including a visitor to the island who took them to a hardware store and bought building materials, and a woman who opened an account for them at Carter’s General Stores for close to $1 000.

Harris has converted the shed into a two-bedroom home.

The couple, who live at Tudor Bridge, St Michael, yesterday thanked the people who reached out to them. Sealy said she was more comfortable now. However, she said they were still having some issues which she hoped would be settled soon. (MB)
