CYCLING’S tumultuous times have hit another gear with an application challenging the legitimacy of the Barbados Cycling Union (BCU) executive due to be heard before the Supreme Court this morning.
The application centres on the validity of the council of the BCU under its constitution to continue to function, the applications for new membership and the need to have an annual general meeting.
Attorney Larry Smith is representing people “interested in the affairs of the BCU”.
Yesterday, one of his clients, Queen’s Counsel Keith Simmons, a long-standing member of the BCU, told the DAILY NATION it is unfortunate that the matter is now before the law courts. (MK)
