BLACKMAN & GOLLOP smashed their way to another zone victory after winning the Emerald City Zone of the Cave Shepherd/Berger Royale/ A1 Supermarkets Primary Schools Road Tennis Championships at the Rubis Courts, Brighton, yesterday.

Spurred by exceptional performances from Nathan King and Joshua Dourne, they recorded a 4-0 win victory to advance to the next round of the tournament.

Blackman & Gollop will be accompanied by Vauxhall Primary who captured second spot with three wins and one loss, while Mount Tabor placed third with one win and three losses.

He thrashed Kevin Joseph-Garner of Half Moon Fort 21-4, Quavon McGlean of Vauxhall Primary 24-14, Davonte Pollard of Mount Tabor 21-9 and Tarif Narine of Hilda Skeene 21-1.

Dourne also displayed good technique while defeating Half Moon Fort’s Ryhime Gilkes 21-2, Dontae Harewood of Vauxhall Primary 21-6, Cavion Bascombe of Mount Tabor 21-16 and Hilda Skeene’s Asabi Callender 21-13.

Vauxhall Primary had to settle for the second-place spot but they too shared out some lashes on court. They made a clean sweep against Half Moon Fort with Jakobi Lovell defeating Ryhime Gikes 21-18, Tremaine Scott beating Javonte Bovell 21-8 and Quavon McGlean defeating Izahia Thompson 21-16.
