ON SUNDAY, November 20, Lolene Sobers experienced her worst nightmare as a mother.

It was that night when she was called to the tragic scene where she saw the lifeless body of her 17-year-old son, Tre Sobers, lying face down under an overturned route taxi, in the still of the night.

A distraught Sobers, who is struggling to come to grips with the loss of her youngest child, told the DAILY NATION that though she was trying to be strong, “this ain’t nothing easy for no mother to go through”.

Tre died on the spot when the route taxi he was travelling in overturned at Mount Gay, St Lucy, just a short distance from the home he shared with his mother, who was at work when the accident took place. (AH)
