Long wait in Fairchild terminal

ANXIETY AMONG commuters using Transport Board buses was at fever pitch yesterday.

When a MIDWEEK NATION team visited the Fairchild Street terminal in The City, frustrated passengers told stories of having to wait long hours in rising heat to get to their destinations.

Maureen Nicholls said she had been waiting over an hour for a bus to Sargeant Street, St John, and spoke of being denied employment because of the “poor bus service” on her route.

“The service in here is ridiculous,” she stressed.

“Schoolchildren in here at this hour. People would talk about how they loiter but nobody is going to say it is because they can’t get a bus to go home. (SB)
