THE NATIONAL UNION OF PUBLIC WORKERS (NUPW) and its president Akanni McDowall appear to have been vindicated.
After weeks of being lambasted by some members of Cabinet and a former executive member of the union, and on the receiving end of negative criticism by the public for the way his alleged demotion was handled, McDowall seems to be having his proverbial cake and eating it too.
SUNDAY SUN investigations have revealed that McDowall, who should have acted in the position of Health Planner I in the Ministry of Health until the end of November, is to be paid for the full period even though he was forced to revert to his substantive position of Environmental Health Assistant in October.
