A TRINIDADIAN MAN has been sentenced to two years at Dodds Prison for trafficking cocaine into Barbados.
Dexter Taylor arrived in Barbados on Friday and cleared Immigration at the Grantley Adams International Airport before being interviewed by police and referred to Customs.
During a search of his luggage, three packages of cocaine were discovered in false compartments in a backpack he was carrying. He was later arrested.
When Taylor appeared in the District “B’ Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell, he pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
He was given a two year prison sentence for the offence of trafficking and convicted, reprimanded and discharged for the remaining offences. (PR/NB)
