More needy children

CHILDREN ARE AMONG those seeking holiday sustenance at the Salvation Army this year.

That was the case at the annual treat facilitated by Massy Distribution and Massy United Insurance at the Army’s, Reed Street, The City headquarters yesterday.

Chief executive officer of Massy Distribution, Glenn Taylor, said the change might point to greater needs in the society.

“It kinda sends a signal that times are even harder, because parents [are] now bringing their family and kids, and not just coming themselves. They’ve at least had some sort of income to provide for the children, but now in the tough times even that is proving to be difficult,” he told the SATURDAY SUN.

Taylor did not have an immediate solution, but said he would be taking his observations back to the executive at Massy.
