IT DEFINITELY WAS not a case of home sweet home.

An elderly man is lucky to be alive after he was found by a neighbour lying helplessly in his St Michael home, where he had been trapped for three days.

A dehydrated and weak Hutson Yarde, 73, was pulled out of a section of the caved-in wooden floor in his dilapidated house on Tuesday.

He was rescued by the Barbados Fire Service and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance, where he is being treated for injuries.

Mary Gibson, the neighbour who discovered Yarde, told the SATURDAY SUN that after not seeing the elderly man for an extended period, which was unusual, she decided to go over to the house and investigate.
