FLOW disconnects contractor

FLOW HAS PARTED WAYS with one of its primary subcontractors.

The telecommunications company has declined to comment on the issue, but the WEEKEND NATION has learnt that the contract with S. M. Communications, which is run by Shanita Mayers, has been terminated.

This comes on the heels of complaints by several of Mayers’ employees relating to alleged non-payment of salaries and National Insurance Scheme (NIS) contributions by S. M. Communications.

What started out as a grouse by a few who were complaining about not being paid for December until the 30th, a situation that created Christmas spending challenges for them, mushroomed into concerns about possible ineligibility for severance payments.

One of the workers claimed that a check with NIS showed that no payments had been made since May. (YB)
