‘Slap in the face’

MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT for Christ Church South John Boyce has come under heavy criticism from some of his constituents for his lack of dialogue with them throughout the ongoing South Coast sewage debacle.

For over a month, residents and businesses along the island’s South Coast have been forced to deal with the putrid smell of raw sewage as a result of the malfunctioning South Coast Sewage Treatment Plant.

Only last week, residents had voiced their displeasure that no Government officials had attended a town hall meeting held to discuss the effects which the leaked effluent was having on their homes and businesses.

But following Boyce’s comments at a political meeting at Lester Vaughan School on the issue last Sunday, residents are enraged that the Minister of Health had deemed it fit to address such an audience, but has not found the time to speak to them. (RB)
