THOUSANDS OF VISITORS took over The City on Christmas Day when two cruise ships docked at the Bridgetown Port.
Passengers mainly from Europe came a-calling aboard the Costa Magica and Thompson Discovery as they took in what little the capital had to offer.
As in previous years, stores were closed and the atmosphere paled in comparison to that of days before when thousands crammed every street to find the best bargains and capitalise on late opening hours.
Mareann Elbo and Jan Simmerlkjaer, who were visiting from Denmark on the Costa Magica, took a trip to Queen’s Park to watch Bajans show off their Sunday best, but Elbo said the lack of activity in The City left much to be desired. (TSG)
