THE UNNATURAL DEATH of Sophia McClean has marred the Christmas holiday for loved ones.
The decomposing body of the 48-year-old was discovered by relatives at her East Ring Road, Mount Brevitor, St Peter home around 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, two days after Christmas.
A neighbour, who did not give her name, said the only child of the deceased, a 17-year-old son, his aunt and several children arrived at the house to deliver Christmas gifts. When they did not get any response, she said she advised them to enter through a cracked window at the side, after which they made the shocking discovery.
The neighbour, who said she also entered the three-bedroom house, said the relatives burst into tears upon seeing McClean lying in the “back bedroom”. (LT/YB)
