God ‘stands out’ among all

EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH members spent the final night of 2016 giving God thanks, while the first day of 2017 began with preparations for battle.

Pastor of the church, Reverend Vincent Wood, told the late-night congregation that it was a good time to return thanks to God for His blessings and protection throughout the year. Looking ahead, he cautioned them to be prepared.

The two-hour service ushering in the new year included testimonies from members of the church, along with special renditions, choruses and uplifting hymns. 

Wood made reference to the intense security set up for the famous Times Square New Year’s Eve ball drop in New York that called out several thousand police officers to protect those in attendance. He said that no one knew what was on the horizon but Christians knew that God held tomorrow. (AC)
