DWAYNE SMITH is calling it a day from regional 50-over cricket.

The Barbadian all-rounder made the decision after he was overlooked by the Barbados Pride selectors for the upcoming West Indies Cricket Board’s regional Super50 tournament.

“Banking on the back of not being able to finish my career at home, I will send in my resignation for Barbados Pride,” Smith told a regional TV audience on Massy United Insurance’s Line & Length on Sportsmax on Saturday night.

“I really wanted to finish my career in Barbados with the Super50 being played here. I asked the selectors and they obviously had different plans and I (guess) I didn’t fit in. So, all is good, it was touching. It hurt me a lot because I really wanted to finish my career at home.” (HG)
