EVEN AS Combermere School underwent an industrial cleaning yesterday ahead of the start of the school term, parents are still awaiting definite word from the Ministry of Education on the immediate future of the school.
Chief Education Officer Karen Best said that the ministry would be making an announcement later this week.
Students across the island are set to return to the classrooms on Tuesday, but there is apprehension about Combermere, which was closed temporarily in mid-November because of persistent environmental issues.
Yesterday, a MIDWEEK NATION team paid a visit to the school where industrial cleaners were hard at work on a number of the buildings while some construction work was taking place at the main entrance and other workers were cutting the grass. (AD)
