A PROPOSAL from the Minister of Finance for additional taxation wasn’t implemented last year, much to the delight of the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA).
Long-standing BOA president Steve Stoute revealed Friday night that its Barbados Lottery game was spared additional taxes.
Calling it the “lifeblood” of the organisation, Stoute said the BOA was grateful to Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler for not imposing further taxes as was promised in his 2015 Budgetary Statement and Financial Proposals.
“We are deeply appreciative to the Minister of Finance for not imposing additional taxes that were discussed in the 2015 Budgetary proposals,” Stoute said during his welcome address at the BOA’s awards ceremony and dinner at Hilton Barbados. (EZS)
