INTERNATIONALLY-ACCLAIMED Trinidadian soca artiste, songwriter, record producer and actor Machel Montano was the first recipient of the inaugural Barbados Independent Film Festival Digicel Award for Artistic Excellence, presented at the festival’s gala opening at the Walled Garden Theatre of the Barbados Museum Wednesday night.
Montano was elated to receive his award from acclaimed veteran American actor and film producer Stephen Lang, widely recognised as the villain of Avatar fame. (GC)
