Mia: No more business as usual

LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION Mia Mottley took her agitation over the state of the economy, including the recent CariCris downgrade and the decision of the Bank of Guyana not to accept Barbados currency, to the House of Assembly yesterday.

But after an estimated ten minutes, she was shut down and ordered to sit by Speaker of the House Michael Carrington, who pointed to the relevance of her argument.

The House was at the time debating the Holidays With Pay Bill, 2016, which Mottley said opposition members had no problem with.

But what she was concerned her, she explained, were more pressing matters affecting the Barbados economy. (WILLCOMM)
