THE GRASS definitely isn’t greener on the other side now.

Kensington is ready. The Oval’s multimillion-dollar surface and outfield have been finally restored to pristine condition in time for Tuesday’s Regional Super50 and the upcoming international assignments.

Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) CEO Noel Lynch gave the assurance while leading a media tour of the outfield yesterday ahead of next week’s opening fixture between Barbados Pride and Guyana Jaguars.

“The field is not 100 per cent, but it is 99 per cent. Our curators have been working to restore this field and there isn’t going to be any serious activity before the tournament, so we will be in great shape by the time the first ball is bowled at 1:30 [p.m.] on Tuesday,” said Lynch.
