MAJOR NUMBERS of students at Combermere School have not been going home ill.

That denial came from Minister of Education Ronald Jones yesterday in response to an article on Page 7 of yesterday’s WEEKEND NATION headlined Combermere Students “Sick” Again.

In a press release Jones said the school’s records did not reflect the reports attributed to an unnamed source. That source claimed that since the start of the new school term on January 10, students were complaining of sore throat, itchy skin and headaches, which in some cases caused them to leave early.

“The reports of students leaving the school relate to dental appointments, and other personal issues,” the statement quoted Jones as saying. (YB)
