THE NATIONAL UNION of Public Workers’ (NUPW) is giving Government one last chance to right a wrong.
But if the Freundel Stuart administration does not concede and give public workers a much deserved salary increase, the major public sector union will embark on industrial action.
This was made clear by NUPW president Akanni McDowall yesterday, following a two and a half hour meeting at the union’s Dalkeith, St Michael headquarters, which was attended by dozens of public workers and top union officials, including general secretary Roslyn Smith and treasurer Asokore Beckles.
The union had called the meeting following a move by Cabinet on Tuesday to restore the docked ten per cent of ministers’ salaries. (RB)
