Yellow repeat at Bayley’s

DANIEL DUNCAN is definitely the top sportsman at Bayley’s Primary School.

The top batsman in the school’s cricket team, winners of the Herman Griffith Competition, showcased his track and field skills while leading Yellow House to their second consecutive sports title at their ground in St Philip on Friday.

Yellow won the championship with 464 points from Red (359), Blue (313) and Green (308). Duncan was victor ludorum with 39 points.

Competing against the Under-13 boys, Duncan won the cross country, long jump, 100, 200 and 400 metres but was pipped on the line by Shaquan Belle in the 800 metres.

Green’s Kamilla Kirton was victrix ludorum with 29 points, winning the cricket ball throw, 100 and 200 metres and placing second in the long jump and 400 metres among the Under-13 girls.

Aneele Trotman (Red) and David Callender (Yellow) were the top Under-11 girl and boy with 20 and 19 points, respectively.

Trotman won the 200 and 400 metres, while Callender won the long jump and was second in the cricket ball throw, 200 metres and 400 metres.

Shakayra Gaskin (Blue) and Tyrayo Hinkson (Green) were the Under-9 girls’ and boys’ champions, respectively, with 28 points each. They won the long jump, 80, 100 and 150 metres in their categories.

The Under-17 boys’ and girls’ champions were Mekari Bushelle (Red) and Dazaria Brathwaite (Blue), with 18 and 13 points, respectively. (EZS)
