Bayley’s students most outstanding

THE PRIVATE SECTOR and charitable organisations are being praised for their contributions to education by Senator Harry Husbands.

Husbands, who is the parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Education, said that often it was the efforts of citizens that helped to push education.

“In our educational system many of our schools were started by churches. Today many churches and service clubs do a tremendous lot to help and assist in promoting education in Barbados,” he said.

He was addressing the Cave Shepherd, Berger Royale, A One Supermarkets National Primary School Awards on Sunday at Kensington Oval. Husbands said the country owed gratitude to people like Ricardo Marshall, who organised the event that saw Bayley’s Primary emerge as the Most Outstanding School. (TSG)
