Brutality file ready by Friday

WITHIN THE next week it should be known if police officers will face charges in the brutal beating of Nazim Blackett last May.

Acting Assistant Commissioner in charge of crime Lybron Sobers, told the WEEKEND NATION he expected the file to be completed and on the desk of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) by next Friday. nazim-blackett

The 20-year-old’s mother, Tracy Blackett, accused police officers of severely beating her son, leaving him with internal injuries and bleeding on his lungs.

The beating allegedly took place after Nazim was taken into custody for questioning. (RB)
