THE TWO SCHOOLS which held the lead in the afternoon went on to win their respective section of the Barbados Teachers Cooperative Credit Union Obadele Thompson Zone
St Catherine Primary won the girls’ section with 144 points, just eight ahead of St James Primary as the National Primary Schools’ Athletic Championships got underway at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
St Mark’s Primary were third with 115 points and Half Moon Fort fourth with 112.
Among the boys, St Ambrose ran away with the title, racing to 153 points, pulling away to leave St Catherine (131.5) and Trinity Academy (121) in second and third place, respectively.
St Mark’s Primary were fourth with 118.
Tomorrow, the NATION-sponsored Patsy Callender Zone will be held at the same venue, starting at 10 a.m.
