IT WAS a case of history repeating itself when Turquoise House won the Inter-House championship title at Holy Innocents Primary School for the third straight year.

Held at Bridgefield playing field in St Thomas on Friday, the athletes of the winning house started racking up the points early and never relinquished their lead. They amassed 255 points to second-placed Orange House Tigers’ 216 and third-placed Purple House’s 167.

Tiara Whittaker and Devere King were the top two athletes again, securing the victrix and victor ludorum titles respectively. While Whittaker participated in the 100, 200, 400 and 600-metre races, King showed his prowess in the 100 and 200, 800 metres races plus the cricket ball throw. They also ran in the 4×100-metre relays.

Although rain threatened to put a damper on the sports day, the sun shone brightly to ensure all the athletes could compete in the sprints, including the 50-metre events for the younger children. (GBM)
