Are you where you’ve always wanted to be?
No. Although I am happy that C & G Star Trading Ltd. has entered some overseas markets and finalised the formulisation for our new Star Tamarind Ketchup, I believe there is much more to be realistically achieved. There is a lack of Barbadian product presence on the international market.
What is your biggest professional challenge?
Delegating tasks.
What is your biggest life challenge?
Having the available time to develop and cherish meaningful relationships.
When you look to the future, what do you see?
Star’s wide range of products as a global household name, and me being an instrumental catalyst for the recognition of economic development of Barbados internationally.
What is your favourite pastime?
Olympic weightlifting.
What is your favourite meal?
Steak baked with Star seasoning, plated with a serving of rice, infused with Star Golden Apple Chutney and corn, then washed down with a tall glass of Star sorrel or as a second choice, Star jamoon.
On Saturday nights, where are you likely to be?
Working at my other business in St Lawrence Gap, Fire and Soul Island Grill & Lounge, serving Barbadian food to locals and international visitors.
What upsets you the most?
Persons who are unsatisfied with where they are in life and who are unwilling to make a positive change.
What is your guiding philosophy?
Anything is possible with perseverance but nothing of worth is easy.
If you had the chance to manage Barbados for a day, what would you do?
Draft, proclaim and enact legislation to facilitate a much easier process for exportation of Barbadian products. Then see that all Government departments are seamlessly linked to each other online so you only have to go one place to do business.
