RED TAPE and slow delivery of services in the public sector are major stumbling blocks to productivity in Barbados.
As such, ways must be found to improve on efficiency and delivery.
This assessment has come from just appointed Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Cleviston Haynes, at the launch of the Week Of Excellence symposium at the Grande Salle of the Central Bank yesterday.
In his first public statement since his appointment last Friday, Haynes said there was scope for the delivery of services “so that citizens do not have to wait in line to pay for services at great cost to productivity itself, but we must also focus on how to implement other far-reaching improvements that might aid business facilitation and improve the attractiveness of doing business in Barbados”.
