TWO POLICE OFFICERS have been charged in connection with beating a suspect, who was pictured in a blood-splattered cell at the District “A” Police Station nine months ago.
Nazim Blackett, 20, and his mother Tracey Blackett had accused eight police officers of beating him brutally, resulting in internal injuries and bleeding on his lungs.
Yesterday, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Lybron Sobers revealed that the two officers will appear in court in July in connection with the incident.
Sobers, who is responsible for crime, told the WEEKEND NATION that the case had already been filed in court. (RB)
