Cummins told a town hall meeting discussing amendments to the Physical Development Plan, the Ministry of Transport and Works was currently working on the Strategic Plan for the transport system in Barbados that would determine the best ways of moving traffic.

“What we have determined to do in this document in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Works is to see how we can increase accessibility and mobility. We know that that is a major problem in Barbados,” the Town Planning chief explained.

He told the audience at Queen’s College there were some things that could be done to ease the traffic situation such as the park and ride system and a suggested water taxi system utilising Oistins, Bridgetown, Holetown and Speightstown. (GC)
