Two facing demotion

ONE WEEK in and the pressure is already on.

This Co-operators General Insurance Premier League basketball season could be the most competitive yet, as the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) announced that it will be demoting two teams this year.

BABA president Derrick Garrett confirmed the news earlier this week after sending out an email to the teams notifying them of the recent change to the playing rules.

“We really just want to bring the league back down to eight teams from the current situation of nine because we’re very concerned about the quality of the play at the top flight,” said Garrett. (JM)
