Pride roll over Hurricanes on third day

BRIDGETOWN – Barbados Pride defeated the Leeward Islands Hurricanes by an innings and 26 runs on the third day of their sixth round cricket match in the Digicel Regional 4-Day Tournament at Kensington Oval here Monday.

Forced to follow-on with a deficit of 150 runs, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes were dismissed for 124 off 59 overs in their second innings about 50 minutes after lunch. Captain Kieran Powell was unable to bat in both innings because of health reasons.

No.3 batsman Keacy Carty top-scored with a career-best 79 off 181 balls in 236 minutes. He struck ten fours.

Fast bowler Kemar Roach was Barbados Pride’s most successful bowler with four for 18 off 16 overs.
