Broadway centre stage in Bim

FOR MORE THAN ten years, audiences across the United States have raved about Neil Berg’s 100 Years Of Broadway concerts. Over the last 17 years, Barbadians have been treated to a similar experience with Berg’s Broadway To Barbados.

The American composer, lyricist and producer first brought his famous show to Barbados on a whim, attracting just a handful of patrons on the first night 17 years ago.  Broadway To Barbados 2017 attracted full house at the Frank Collymore Hall nightly, and Berg cannot feel more satisfied.

For the last five years he has been producing the Barbados version of his famous show in partnership with the Broadway to Barbados Trust and Diamonds International as a fundraiser for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Robert Borque, who is chairman of the Broadway to Barbados Trust, under whose aegis the shows are now being held, recently announced the initial fundraising target of $2.5 million has been surpassed. (GC)
