NEW BOYS’ champions could be crowned, but the girls’ glory is likely to remain the same as last year.
The St Michael School and Christ Church Foundation established crucial early leads yesterday among the girls and boys on the first day of the finals of the Barbados Secondary Schools Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
Defending girls champions Foundation amassed 181 points, while former queens Springer Memorial are 30.80 points adrift in second place on 150.20 with Harrison College (131) in third.
The St Michael School, with 130 points, narrowly lead two-time defending boys’ champs Lester Vaughan (116) by 14 points, with Harrison College (98) third. (EZS)
