SOME ATHLETES are expressing satisfaction with their performances on the first day of finals in the Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championships at the National Stadium.
Foundation’s Hannah Connell slammed the field yesterday to win the Under-20 Girls’ 100 metres and the 100 metres hurdles in 11.89 seconds and 14.01 seconds, respectively.
The athlete, who has qualified for the CARIFTA Games multiple times, told WEEKENDSPORT she was not feeling her best physically, so she was surprised at her times.
“I feel pretty okay about my performance, but I actually shocked myself because my legs are not 100 per cent and my back is giving me a little pain,” Connell said. (RG)
