MARSON JOHNSON CONTINUED his good form and moved into the quarter-finals of the Massy United Insurance Clash Of The Titans road tennis tournament when the Round of 16 concluded on Thursday night at Dover Courts.
Playing with his usual determination and control, Johnson dismissed Jamar “Bob” Best 21-7, 21-16. Best suffered a sow in the first game in attempting his attacking game, but his shots were off range, while Johnson countered the good attacks with relative ease.
It was only in the second game that Best curbed his attacking style and gained some points. He had fortuitously reached the Round of 16 when Kerry “TC” Francis was ruled out after suffering an injury when he attempted to rescue a neighbour from a burning house.
