THERE WILL BE no long drawn-out delay this time.
That is the promise from National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) president Akanni McDowall as the union ended round one of talks with Government on salary and wage increases for civil servants yesterday.
The two sides spent hours behind closed doors at the Personnel Administration Division in the Humphrey Walcott Building on Culloden Road, St Michael.
Government’s side was led by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of the Civil Service, Alyson Forte, and comprised his deputy permanent secretary and the chief economist from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, while general secretary Roslyn Smith was the lead negotiator for the NUPW. (HLE)
