MTW worker charged in theft of $5 000

A MALE STAFFER at the Ministry of Transport and Works has been granted bail after being charged with theft of more than $5 000.

According to police, the Financial Crime Investigation Unit charged 62-year-old Michael Alexander of Dalkeith Village, St Michael.

Alexander is employed as an investigator with the Accident Claims Unit and is accused of receiving payment with the promise of being able to provide taxi permits.

When he appeared before Magistrate Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Court on March 30, Alexander was granted bail to the sum of $5 000and is scheduled to reappear in court on June 19. (PR/SAT)
